How about sharing the pearl with your fellow preceptors at the Eastern States Conference (ESC) this coming May? This is a great way to help meet preceptor criteria and can be added to your CV or Academic and Professional Record (APR).<\/p><p>The ESC is soliciting preceptor development pearls for our spring conference May 18-21, 2025. Preceptors will<br \/>present their 15 min presentation at the conference.<\/p><p>What is a pearl and how is it different from traditional educational sessions? The goal of each pearl presentation is to convey one idea, concept, or fact that has been useful in day-to-day practice, and may not be widely known, understood, published, or taught. Keep in mind that these presentations are not intended to be a review of literature. While it is expected that the information be grounded in fact (and may be derived from research), pearl presentations should be based on acumen and practice, not a review of papers. (From ASHP MidYear Meeting program guidelines) Alternatively, \u201cClinical pearls are best defined as small bits of free standing, clinically relevant information based on experience or observation.\u201d<\/p><p>Abstracts submitted by the applicants should focus on a particular aspect of preceptor development. \u00a0Ideas for possible topics include, but are not limited to: crucial conversations, precepting Generation Z learners, appropriate use of social media, imposter syndrome, providing constructive feedback, and boosting learner engagement.<\/p><p>Preceptor pearl submission form: click <strong>HERE<\/strong> to submit<\/p><p>To submit your proposal, you will need:<\/p><ul><li>Title of pearl<\/li><li>Abstract of 150 words or less briefly providing a short summary of the pearl (title, needs statement, active<br \/>learning assessment and objectives do not contribute to the 150 word limit)<\/li><\/ul><p>Please submit by January 31, 2025.
